His litigation support practice focuses primarily on financial, accounting, and economic damage evaluations of complex commercial litigation disputes.\r\n\r\nOver the course of his career, Mr. Sowards has performed and supervised hundreds of investigations of businesses in a variety of industries including: banking, construction, energy, manufacturing, and real estate, among others. He has served as the court appointed Claims Administrator and Distribution Agent for numerous securities fraud disputes and has worked for receivers, examiners, and other agents of the court.\r\n\r\nThe types of matters for which Mr. Sowards has been retained to provide expert services include: accounting malpractice, breach of contract disputes, breach of fiduciary duty, business interruption, director and officer liability, intellectual property disputes, securities and commodities fraud, and white collar fraud and embezzlement investigations.\r\n\r\nHe has rendered expert testimony in state and federal courts, bankruptcy courts, and in arbitration proceedings. Robert VECCHIO

As the Chief Executive Officer of SOCOTEC Engineering, Inc., he is involved with business development and oversees day-to-day company management.\r\n\r\nDr. Vecchio is a licensed Professional Engineer in AZ, CO, FL, GA, HI, KS, LA, MA, MD, MN, NC, NY, PA, SC, TX, VT, and WA. \r\n\r\nHe holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and Supplement in Materials Science from University of Southern California, a M.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from Lehigh University, an M.S. in Civil-Structural Engineering from Manhattan College, and a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering from Lehigh University. He was recently named a Fellow of ASME.\r\n\r\nOver the past four decades, Dr. Vecchio has participated in some of the most challenging structure and system issues including the Exxon Valdez Hull Rupture, 1993 World Trade Center bombing, the Hell Gate gas main and Gramercy Park steam main explosions, the 4 Times Square scaffolding collapse, Indian Point NPP steam generator girth weld cracking, ACELA train brake failure and redesign, I-35 Minneapolis bridge collapse, FFS assessment of New World Trade Center Transportation Hub, and the tragic rescue and recovery efforts following the collapse of the World Trade Center towers.\r\n\r\nIn addition to his responsibilities at SOCOTEC, Dr. Vecchio is also an assistant professor at Manhattan College where he teaches a graduate course in fracture mechanics and fatigue analyses.
