About Andrew Barr
Mr. Barr has a BS in civil engineering and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Massachusetts, and has successfully completed the Certification for School Project Designers & Owner’s Project Manager (MCPPO Program). He has over 40 years of experience in the architectural/engineering field as a designer and specifier for building envelope repair projects. Mr. Barr is well-known in the industry and brings proven entrepreneurial, managerial and strategic planning skills to the firm.
Mr. Barr has specific expertise with the investigation and design of corrective repairs for many types of building envelope systems including roofing; masonry and concrete; metal, wood and vinyl siding systems; plaza and below-grade waterproofing; windows, curtain walls and sealants. He has experience in air-barrier design, deep-energy retrofit, LEED design and building envelope commissioning.
Mr. Barr has provided building envelope educational seminars to various industry-related groups including architects, specifiers, facility managers, and contractors.
Mr. Barr has also served as an expert witness for construction litigation, arbitration, and mediation pertaining to building envelope repairs.

Andrew Barr is a Senior Principal at SOCOTEC and has held various other positions within the organization since 2000. Prior to his current position, Mr. Barr was the Chief Executive Officer at Russo Barr Associates which was acquired by SOCOTEC in 2023. Mr. Barr was previously employed at Case/LEA, Andrew N. Barr, P.E., Belair Restoration and Gale Associates.
