About Michael CHEN
As a Professional Engineer in New York, Mr. Chen brings a very high level of technical expertise and professionalism to all of his work at SOCOTEC. He has specialized in civil engineering with an emphasis on structural engineering since 2003. His experience spans a variety of asset types as well as wall system types, including masonry, window wall, curtain wall, precast, prefabricated panels, and reclad.
Mr. Chen provides field inspection of exterior cladding systems, consulting, report writing and shop drawing review. He also performs structural analysis of glass and wall systems and is involved in mockup testing. In 2018, he was promoted to Principal and became responsible for managing a team of new construction technical staff.

Michael CHEN is a Principal at SOCOTEC and has held various other positions within the organization since 2007. Prior to his current position, Mr. CHEN was a Principal at Vidaris, Inc., formerly Israel Berger & Associates, which was acquired by SOCOTEC in 2019. Mr. CHEN was previously employed at Thorton Tomasetti.
