About Sam Guha
Dr. Guha has diverse professional experience in geotechnical engineering design, consulting, construction, and regulatory practice. Dr. Guha provides guidance on various analytical and numerical procedures that are undertaken for a project including seismic hazard analyses, site-specific response spectra analyses, and slope stability analyses; analyses of soil settlement, bearing capacity, and earth pressures; assessment of adverse effects of collapsible soil and expansive soil; and development of structural foundation, pavement sections, and underground pipeline design criteria. His technical expertise also includes geotechnical design parameters and recommendations for shallow and deep foundations, temporary and permanent retaining structures, slope stabilization techniques, mechanically stabilized earth walls, tieback anchors, soil nails, in-situ ground remediation, and earthwork.
Dr. Guha’s responsibilities include preparation and review of geotechnical reports, proposals and transmittals; review of laboratory test results, project plans and specifications; supervision and technical support to project- and staff-level engineers and geologists; quality assurance/quality checks; and performance of project administration and management.
