About Paul MURTAGH
Dr. Murtagh joined SOCOTEC in 2009 and has worked primarily in the fields of stress analysis, finite element analysis, fatigue analysis, fracture mechanics, failure analysis and structural condition assessment.
Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Murtagh worked as a Senior Structural Engineer at Thornton Tomasetti, New York, NY, having worked on numerous high profile New York construction projects reviewing shop drawing design standards and performing design engineering including heavy mat foundations, concrete and steel braced high-rise, overbuild structures including rail transit platform design.
Dr. Murtagh is licensed Professional Engineer and in addition to his responsibilities at SOCOTEC, is also an assistant professor at Manhattan College where he teaches a graduate course in fracture mechanics and fatigue analyses.

Paul MURTAGH is a Senior Principal Engineer at SOCOTEC and has held various other positions within the organization since 2009. Prior to his current position, Mr. MURTAGH was a Director at LPI, Inc. which was acquired by SOCOTEC in 2019. Mr. MURTAGH was previously employed at Thorton Tomassetti, Inc.
